Sources is a series of podcasts and internet resources exploring the life and influence of the cultures of the ancient Mediterranean: especially the Near East, Egypt, Greece, and Rome, whose legacy in the Western world includes much in our religions, language, art, poetry, literature, law, democratic institutions, science, mathematics, and philosophy. We’re based in the department of Classical, Near Eastern, and Religious Studies in the Faculty of Arts at the University of British Columbia, a uniquely interdisciplinary department which studies the ancient Mediterranean world and its reception as a whole.
For our first episodes, we’ll be featuring short video conversations with faculty specializing in these areas.
Sources is currently produced by Michael Griffin at UBC: feel free to contact him with any questions or queries about the project.
